Christmas Comes Early!

After receiving confirmation and approval from our mortgage lender, we have officially removed ALL contingencies upon the offer we made on the 4209 Calle Isabelino home and plan to be owners on December 15th.  The sellers will now start making all the requested repairs (termite, dry rot, and roof tile repairs) prior to closing, so things continue to progress.  Buying a home in California is definitely different from Texas in that we will be signing escrow papers at the end of next week or on Monday, December 13th, which is prior to actually closing.  First we will need to sign the documents before close of escrow which will then be sent to the bank for final review.  The funds are then wired and we will finally receive our keys on Wednesday, December 15th.

We are starting to get excited and after initially looking at this home back in July, we never thought we would be buying it or could afford it.   Kevin has been great doing all this and I really appreciate all that he has done.  The kids do not yet know about this, so will be surprising them once we figure out the best way to share the news with them.  We did not want to get their hopes up or too excited just in case things fell through.
