Oooooooo... it's pumpkin carving time. For most people, it's time to figure out which design, doing all the work, and then enjoying the finished product. For my dad though, it means more pumpkin pie. We bought two pumpkins so both kids could customize a pumpkin and call it their own. Ashley selected silhouette tree design which was about a medium difficulty level and Brandon selected a traditional pumpkin face to carve out.
Ashley was very focused as her design was pretty time consuming. The one thing she did not like was cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin and scooping out the seeds. Ashley thought that was disgusting and I had to help out to try to get it clean. Brandon thought it was gross and he liked it, but agreed that it was rather slimy.

In total, it probably took us less than two hours total from start to finish to carve the pumpkins before we could share them with the neighbors and showcase them on our front porch for all to see at night.
I think they both did a good job and it was something new for them to experience.
