SMArT (Science, Music, Art, and Technology) Night was held at Del Mar Hills and started off with a special treat that the kindergarten class had been practicing to present to all of the grades - a square dance! After starting off the ceremonies with the pledge of allegiance, the kindergarten classes prepared to 'honor their partner' and started dancing with each other in groups of eight.

Brandon and his partner, Claire B, did a superb job of following the dance steps and being such an exceptional dancing partner that he is, he did not step on anyone's feet. The crowd circled (no pun intended) around the two kindergarten classes who had assembled outside to showcase their talents with multiple squares in conjunction with the music. Brandon's partners in his square of eight included his interim teacher, Ms. Peters, as well as his best friend's Dylan and Wil.

The students, for those that wanted to participate, then had the opportunity of going to the various SMArT (Science room, Music room, Art room, and the Technology or computer room) , as well as their classrooms, to find answers to the clues they were given and have the opportunity to earn a prize upon completion. Ashley was excited about this and ended up receiving a Scholastic book of her selection, yet Brandon was content to play outside with his classmates and not try to earn a free book.

It was a fun night to see all the things that the kids learned in different fashions and incorporating it into learning, as well as interacting with the other parents. We really do love this school.
