Ashley and Brandon have now completed their first year of Chinese School. They attended almost every Saturday with the exception of perhaps 4 holidays, from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm where they had to complete homework and practice their Chinese, including reading, writing, conversational, cultural, songs, holiday, and calligraphy.
Exams were held two weeks prior and the school rented uniforms and had each class perform either a song, poem, or skit for the ceremony. Neither one was thrilled about going to Chinese school every Saturday, but we felt that it was important for them to have some knowledge and understanding of the language and culture. The school was held in an office park location across from a municipal airport, so the location left one scratching their head, but both seemed to learn some Chinese which was our goal.
