Spring Break in Texas

For spring break this year, we decided to pack up the mini-van and head out east for a road-trip to visit our family and friends throughout Texas.  We left San Diego on Friday, April 2nd and returned home on Saturday, April 10th for a total of 3,479 miles in the car - and survived!

Our first stop was in Fullerton, CA to drop off Cheeto and Daisy at Helen & Richard's home (Kevin's brother and sister-in-law) before heading out east.  They were gracious enough to volunteer to watch the dogs so we would not have to board them while gone and the dogs were ecstatic to have some true peace and quiet.

We then started the 25 hour trip to Austin where we meet up with the Hardin family (again).  According to Ashley, "Our events included a Star Wars light saber and trying to attack Daddy and Uncle Peter.  The kids won the battle!"  She enjoyed doing her infamous stare at the truck drivers enroute while attempting to get them to honk their horn.  It was hard to leave them as we always have so much fun and the kids play wonderfully together.

The Easter egg hunt, the Star Wars light saber wars, Easter services, and great meals, along with playtime of whiffle ball in the front yard with a lemonade stand and avid customers Campbell and Brandon with multiple quarters.  Time flies by and we are always so sad when it is time to go on.
